Fit and finish on the Parker is poor.
I bought a new one last year (2520XL)
Good boat and suits my needs, just not the greatest in quality control.
Pm if you want details

Defiance fit and finish makes Parker's look high end. I saw the two Team Defiance boats at a show, and they are not holding up as I would hope they would, and the rigging is horrible. These are factory rigged boats, so if that is their level of workmanship- pass!
Defiance has problems, and has gone under once (sort of). I think lawsuits will be happening on that fiasco.
Parker has a long history, and is a known quantity. There may be some issues to work out, but probably minor.
Steigercraft is a nice looking boat. I like the recessed trim tabs on their boats. More options, as well, so easier to set the boat up the way you want.
Mt 2 cents, and worth what you paid for it.

Greetings,
I am not here to bash or strike contrast to any other boat manufacture but I must say that I couldn’t be happier with my 2008 220 EX Defiance boat. Fit, finish, performance, reliability and the professional rigging I received has sealed my expectations as a small boat owner.
This is my fifth boat and I can offer only a positive recommendation for Defiance boats. It is the best boat I have ever owned. I have confidence in the construction of the vessel and really am not that concerned that they are a relatively a new boat company, or concerned about subjective company longevity industry rumors. In today’s economy there are too many factors that can drive any business under. However, I do think they produce a solid product and are conscientious to producing a quality product and will be around for many years to come.
For me, it was the boat that drew me to making this purchase. Cost, trailerable, good size pilot house, large cabin, 4-stroke economy, reliability, range, and really a great looking boat in my opinion. Like any new purchase, I also had some initial delivery service requests that required attention. Frankly, it was the extra effort that I received during the peak season that really fortified my satisfaction with my purchase.
I will continue to venture out offshore with full confidence that my boat will be safe, reliable and comfortable here in Southern California waters.
I hope this provides some feedback to your inquiry. Good luck on your next purchase.

I have had my Parker for three years and am very very happy with it. When I putz around with working or cleaning it I always remark to myself about the quality workmanship. Everything is SOLID.
I like the transom storage and the full Armstrong bracket. Even though the engine is way out there, you can step on the swimstep to keep a fish away from the engine and tabs. The cabin door swings all the way open and out of the way.
I have talked to Defiance owners and it seems they are equally as happy. I really like the 25 footer. There are a few things on the 22 which I don't like but that is personal preferance.
I have taken a close look at the Stiegers at the FHS and was very impressed. You can also get them with a lot of different configurations such as open back.
If I had to replace mine, I would again go Parker mainly because of the good luck I have had.
BTW I am sold on the Yamaha powerplant as well. Never a hickup.
Take your time comparring. All are a good choice.
Have fun,
Dave

The 25 defiance and 255DV Steiger both have Beams (8.5') that allow you to tow without too much Highway 1 ass pucker. In a parker you have to drop down to a 23. Steiger riggs with Zukes. Most people have reviewed both motors very well. I would choose whatever one I could find used with a fold down tower and huge bait tank.
