Boating Discussion Thread, Does anyone sell Ethanol-free gas ? in Boats; or is it a state mandate that all retail gasoline sales have 10% ethanol in the fuel?

....
unless you have a really old motor ethanol wont hurt a thing its more in the old motors that might swell o rings but its way to much hype about it and might do damage that comes from the oil companys making billions

Oh man do I beg to differ on that statement.
Ethanol has been causing mooch havoc on many newer 4 stroke outboard engines according to many mechanics.
Yeah, I found and read that one after posting this question. Looks as though the only place to get E0 gas here in-state is from airport fuel depots.
Does anyone know how to improve on regular gas octane while eliminating the ethanol's downsides? I current add Soltron to my fuel, but was doing so primarily to clean the tanks and reduce the possibility of water absorbtion since I did originally have some tank fuel issues.
how to remove ethanol(not recommended)
add 1 galon water to each 10 gallons fuel
mix well, let settle, drain 2 gallons water /ethanol blend from bottom of container.
run feul through a water separating fuel filter,
run fuel, hope you got all the water out .
option 2 burn fuel, ethanol goes away at same time
.
option 3 buy "av gas" expensive.
option 4 pemex?
option ?? know anyone who works at gasoline refinery?
its to easy to blam motor problems on the gas. I'm a certified asme mech. granted not boats cars and trucks and have never seen a bad problem or problem at all for that matter with it. Never run av gas but that is a totally different blend than cars or boats run i wouldnt try it. If your having problems look at all the options without thinking the gas first and narrow it down. Its possible it will swell orings or old gaskets but as far as i know you should be ok. Dont know what your problem is but is it possible your pushing your motor to hard and its getting hot??? or the fuel line to close to a heat source and getting it to hot and vapor locking the line??
