FISH HOLD PUMP OUT

I am looking to buy a used 1990 20ft Bayliner Trophy. It has two fish holds but the pumps to pump out the water from the holds do not work. The seller tells me he has had the boat for three years and never bothered to fix the pump beacuse he doesnt know where to find it.

Can anyone tell me how much this will cost to fix and is it something I can do myself.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the pump? Would it have one pump for both holds or two - one for each?

Macerator. About $120 each and some gymnastic classes to change.

find it in the boat by following the drain hose. At West Marine just ask.

Wrap a rope around your ankles and hang from the highest point you can find.

I have the same boat. It had a small water pump to pump out the fish holds but with all the scales and what have you that ends up going through the pump it always gets clogged. I have replumbed the holds with larger tubing and installed a mecerator pump and it works great. They are about $100. As far as the location of the pump. My boat has a access hole right behind the outboard. Look through the hole with a mirror towards the bow and you'll see the pump mounted there. Hope this helps

Pain in the back and arms and a.. You get the picture. Yea its not to easy mounting the pump and running the plumbing. Very limited space to work with. I thought about cutting a bigger access hole but didnt really want to cut up the boat. Good luck

Spec for those are 500gph johnson cartridges $14.99 ea at West Marine 30% right now. ($10.49 ea). 2 wires and your back in biz. They snap right in. The hardest thing to do is remove battery and possibley disconnect scupper hose to get access.
Make sure you have screens in the fish holds. You will get another 6 years of dry fish holds from these. 2 pumps for $20.98. Get it done.
