I'm not sure how big the DMV hit is going to be. | The one we picked up earlier this year was the same - out of reg on both the trailer & boat - I'm thinking it was around $90 total.

I have a 1993 Invader cc 183 with a 115 hp Johnson. Love my boat. Handles the rough condition very well and dry. I've taken mine out to Cat on the backside from LB Shoreline with confidence. The only minor issue I have with mine is that it list to portside a bit. I need to get trim tabs. For now, I resolve the issue by simply shifting weights on the deck to starboard to compensate. The 22 ft cc listed on CL Riverside looks like a killer deal. I wish I had the money. You can probably talk him down below $5k. There's also a walk around cuddy invader 21 or 22 ft listed on San Francisco CL. Seller wants $6300 for it. Ad claims it has a "new motor?" Might be worth to at least call to inquire. Good luck.

Thanks for the guidance Chuckles, after a blow out on the 15 N. at 7pm, I had to leave it on the side of the freeway, yank the wheel, run it to the shop in Orange, mount a GOOD 14in tire, drive back out to Lake & the 15 thru a parking lot on the 91 E, turn around, head N, as I am putting it back on the 18 wheelers almost knocked me over. I had only a L turn signal and brake light working. 12 hour excursion, but at 11 last night, I parked it in front of the shop!! Looks alot nicer sitting here, than in the dirt, next to an old chicken coop, surrounded by dead cars and trucks. Have any of you guys got any tips on cutting the deck to put in a new tank? I can build race cars, but don't let me run around unrestrained with a Skill saw.

Congrats Jon, best of luck! I know there are a few Invader owners that'll help you get the new tank in.

Thanks Matt, I'm cleaning 20 years of crap out of the boat right now. Got a brand new Perko battery isolator switch, but the wiring is, shall we say, poorly done. Have not found any bindles yet. I am going to keep looking though. No unpleasant suprises when it is ready to haul to the house in La Mision! Federales frown on that shit!! This gas tank thing is a bitch. I don't want to cut to much, but to little and I won't be able to use the piece to make an access hatch. Really hate to cut the deck, it is very clean and solid. Anybody know how big the original tanks were in a 1988 18.5 C.C. The original brochure says 43 gallons. That space does not look that big. Oh well, back to work!!

Hey Jon,
there are a few threads on replacing the original tanks. Search the boat discusson under Invader. SOunds like the tanks leaking are common. Smart to search all areas on that boat before you cross the border! Stokede to hear a BDer got that hull. You'll be stoked after a little bit of work. Best of luck
