Motor does not go into gear!

On saturday we went out and on the way back the motor just got off gear... we were cruising at 20 knots and suddenly the motor just rev'ed but wouldnt move. The propeller didn move like if it was on neutral... Anybody have an idea what that can be.

probably broke the in put gear at the top of shaft if you did that its not cheep to fix...

Your sphincter valve needs some elbow grease and prop wash.

If you don't know what that is, why do you think it's not that? Sounds like a good possibility. Glad you got home safe.

Did you check to make sure the cables are moving correctly? had mine break and it go back into neutral. had to use a coat hanger me my dad did this for a week during hot bite in San Quintin.

The reason why I say is that because it does not grab any gear... no forward or reverse... just neutral. Unless that problem you speak of has the same symptoms..

I truly think its that... but since i am not mechanic.. i wouldnt know! Any idea on how much that damage will be if that would be the case?
