| Autopilot at 20 mph????? Bad idea?
I took my good buddy fishing on my friends boat a few weekends ago. He was very surprised we set AutoPilot going 20-25mph MOBBING 3-4ft chop. My buddy used to be a service tech for a Yacht dealership (Brunswick Boat Lines)...and said that his hydro pump is gonna take a shit REAL quick....not to mention the JERKY ride and the possibility of getting pitched over...He said autopilot is for cruising...trolling....
Thoughts? Input?
Is it cool to run that fast on autopilot?

Just do not leave the helm when you use the autopilot.

Mine works fine at 20 knots, its designed to work best when on plane. Like said above,
don't leave the helm, and keep your hand on the throttle. My ap is installed right in front of the throttle so its easy to disengage quickly if need be. Also I don't know why yours is jerky. Was it set up properly to start with?

Jerky ride...beacause autopilot doesnt compensate for the swell....say u come over sideways on a swell...autopilot adjusts accordingly...thus the JERKY ride...???
AP disengage is real close...and hand is always on throttle...never leave the helm.

I use mine at higher speeds.. 35 / 45 hp,,. never have a problem..... But if the weather is really really bad,,,, might want to stay close the standby switch or off switch.
