Bass pro shops has twin bank marine battery chargers on sale for 79.94,a great price,sale ends july 5th.After just installing new batteries again im going to get the onboard charger installed this weekend,thanks to skip(customboatguy)for the advice and pointing me in the right direction on this one,THANKS CUSTOMBOATGUY!
It was about $220... more money but a great charger. I have 3 banks - house (2 optimas paralleled together), start and backup start bank. The 2 active banks run through a balmar duocharge while underway. The Xantrex keeps all 3 banks topped off while not in use and cycles each bank independently every 3 weeks... bulk charge, absorption charge and float charge. A lot of research went into this system and knock on wood - no tows due to battery problems to date. All the radio chatter to VA at the beginning of the season is due to poor battery maintenance and poor battery setup. Hope this helps...
