Well I picked it up after another lengthy trip to WestMarine. Except for small stuff, everything including a 48 gallon "Offshore" tank is in my living room. I went back to the dealer after my semi-pricey trip to WM, hooked up the boat and put it in at Newport Dunes. Long story short, the 28p props my be enough, depending on a loaded boat but there is more motor when it's empty. The Flow-scan showed 10 gph and the GPS said 41mph while the tach was showing 3500rpm. Not bad if I do say so myself. 1/3 of a tank and I filled the baittank for more weight. I put it in by myself with little difficulty. Back on the trailer even better. Then I ended up getting my 2wd Dodge pulled up the ramp by a Jeep GrandCherokee. Oh well, at least I kept it in the family. It would have killed me if it was a Duracrap or a PowerJoke.
Anyway, we are planning on heading to Catalina on Sunday. If it's super flat, I might run around SanClemente and then around Catalina. If anyone wants to buddyboat, let me know. I'll check back on my e-mail Saturday Night.

It was a great way to salvage the day. My son's were sick, I ended up getting puking, sweaty sick, Prado stink'n damn was supposed to break and that would have flooded my son's school, no thanks! Corona PD is probably still wondering what really was going on.
I went down in the afternoon, just to get out of the house and got that "I don't feel THAT bad" crap. You know, you feel sick then all of the sudden you don't. It was a scam and my son's will probably wake up with P-new-mony! i don't care, it was worth it. I'm going out Sunday if I spend half the day puking and have to get pulled up a ramp by a Pherd! Come and get me Papa J!

Shit my two wheel drive F550 Pherd would have yanked your Droge the second Droge and the striper up the ramp and around town.

I love talking crap about trucks.
Just to let you know, I have a 1990 Wrangler with a Chevy LT-1 with a four speed auto in it that would pull yer Pherd, that other Drodge, my Drodge, and the Stripper even if it was tied to the dock with half inch spring lines. Like I said, at least I kept it in the family(Chrysler).
I bought the two wheel 'cause I blowed up a four wheel with my toy hauler. I guess running 80, pulling a 35' toy box with a Jeep in it and four dirt bikes and a geazle worth O'aqua was a bit much for it. Tranny and rear end gave up big time. I'll get another four by but it will be a while. It won't be THE tow vehicle but it will be for stuff like tonight. Not that it was planned anyway. I almost puked at Allison. I had to walk away from a conversation and go hide behind the boat. I hate puking. Some people do it and move on. It shuts me down.

It's sweet. Thea gearing is way wrong still and after buying a boat, it's going to stay that way for a while. The 3.38 gears and the 4L60E tranny are not a good combination. It shifts into 3rd at 70mph if you floor it. Good mileage on the freeway though. Only turn about 2k at 75mph.
You guys kill me though. I just bought my first boat and you comment on my 15 year old Jeep. |

Hehe, congrats on your boat! I just thought that your Jeep with the chevy powerplant in it was pretty cool. I have a 90 Wrangler as well, but I just ended up rebuilding the engine and trans in mine. I don't really do any heavy duty rockcrawling, so the I6 works great for me.
What kind of engine did you get in your boat? Also, curious, what is Ad-Seg?

The boat has a 300hp Cummins. I have no idea about the torque which is really sad, since that's what boat's eat. My Jeep is no rock crawler and thanks to the boat, it won't be any time soon. Tri-County Gear uses a 4 banger in their rockcrawler, the "RockStar." I just wanted sand type horsepower. Now I have it, I just can't use it. The stock axles are a little on the small side.
As to "Ad-Seg", I'm not allowed to say. Not enough juice to divulge that type of info. That's secret squirrel type doo-doo.
