| 2005 Seaswirl Stripper Walkaround w/300hp Cummins!!!!!!!
2601 Seaswirl w/300hp cummins. The deal is done and I sea trial as soon as the boat hits the ground. I took the 210hp volvo out last Saturday. It was a boat salesman's dream. Pond like conditions, dolphin out playing, and the 210hp still hit 42mph and could run at that speed forever. At idle/troll speed, you are looking at 1 quart of fuel an hour. I'll let you know how the cummins is.
Any info on these boats will be appreciated. I'm hearing the stock bait tank is crap. This is a 2005 boat and the tank looks pretty good. Some minor changes, and I might be able to make it work. I am also looking at the Offshore tanks but I'm not sure about the new owner. That and the $1400 he wants to do the job.

Wow 300 hp cummins, that ought to be sweet. I have a 2300 i/o so I thnk the bait tank is similar. My tank is much better since:
1. cut the valve off and replace it with a 90' pvc angle fitting.
2. siliconed the seal at the top of the tank that fucker leaked like crazy.
Try your tank out if it works good enough keep it. If not get an offshore and use the bait tank for beer
Cheers

| Sounds good.......
but just a suggestion.... wait until the San Diego Boat Show which is early January and you should be able to get a very good boat show special. Seaswirl has a very large booth there as well. Wait a few more weeks and deal and save $$$$$.

I'm getting a pretty good deal on the boat. I'll put the price out as soon as the deal is done and the pig is in front of my house. I like the tank and really like the idea of keeping my deck space. I want to dive from it a lot. There is a lot of room but dive gear requires space to be comfortable. We'll see.

on the new boat.26 footer.....sahweeet! I have an 18 ft striper, and Im always sayin I need a bigger boat$$(more rail space).I also did exactly what shinerunner did to his tank, the inside top also leaked, and the little valve at the outlet or inflow is so fuckin restrictive youve just gotta fix that,if its the same setup that is.Again, congrats on the purchase,I know how stoked you are.

It's like I said, I was reading every post and using the information. It's hard to remember everything because there is just too much information. Everything is a compromise. I can't believe I stopped factoring in the safety of the diesel though, that was pretty funny.
I'm pretty sure I can make the bait tank work but I'll still, likely end up with a pacific or offshore as a main tank. I want to make long runs when the fish require and that means keeping the bait alive for a day or two.
This is my first boat so I'm starting with nothing. Not even a hand held GPS. For the first week or two I'll have a hand held radio and gps and do some coastal stuff. I'm getting my insurance through BoatUS so I'll have towing right from the start. I'll be diving off the thing soon. Hopefully my finance comes through. It's a lot cheaper than that Fountain. They still have not bothered to e-mail me? :jo:

Dont worry to much about anything Dayle, we will get ya all dialed in.I think you will really like the boat and the cummins diesel is IMO the only way to go.Let us know when she comes through and we will do a buddy boat trip to Catalina for a break in cruise.Marry Xmas man.

If I have my way, the first Sunday-Tuesday I'll be on the water. I'll buy a handheld GPS and radio and I'm gone. Catalina, San Clemente and the Cortez Bank. Watch, the weather will be crappy and I'll have to run around Diamond Valley.

I just got off the phone with the salesman. The boat is getting put on the trailer today. Due to days off, I won't be able to test it till next Monday or Tuesday. It's going to work for me though, this gives them time to put in the flo-scan for the demo. I guess Cummins is getting involved as this is the first one. Nice.?! I'd like to set the appointment up for the observation hoop but I want to make sure it's a done deal first. I need more rod holders up their too. I'd like to end up with about 15 or so. I'm shopping electronics and having friends give me input. Thanks for all the post's, feel free to add opinions on stuff.
