I second the above post.
CALL MAX, HAVE HIM INSTALL YOUR ELECTRONICS.
It will be done right and you will not have to worry about anything 100 miles offshore....

DUDE! I highly recommend getting a good VHF, that handheld is not something I would depend on in a emergency situation.I have a handheld and the range aint worth a shit.

Pacific Yacht tower made the top for your boat, they also make a matching rod rack that mounts to the hard top above the original rocket launchers its sweet. I had them add another Rocket launcher on each rear leg of the tower for bait sticks. They are located in San Marcos. The job took 30 minutes. The top rocket launcher rack should be available at your dealer. For the bait tank angle pipe just go to home depot for a pvc peice and ream it with a dremel, of you don't feel like driving around for it. Congrats, you will like that boat.

I've contacted Pacific yacht towers already. I'm still not sure if I can afford it. I'd like an observation hoop but we'll see. I would also like to see the bait tank happen but again, $$$$$. Electronics are the big one. Good radio, GPS, fish finder and possibly radar are in the works. Just about in that order. I'm hoping to stay under five to six K for the lot. I want a six db antenea or better. That's partly why I want the hoop. It'll give me a place for the second mount for the antenea. As for a handheld radio, it's only for the first trip when I first buy the boat. I would not even consider running outside with ONLY a handheld. Sorry for any miss spelled words, I'm on my fith or sixth Bombay and Tonic in a relatively short period.

| Observation Ring.. bait tanks ,etc.
I have one that would work on your boat made from polished aluminum. It never went on my boat and it is now sold. Your is it works for you, Cheap!Drop me an email.
P.S. On Offshore Bait Tanks, although Randy "sold" the company, he is still working it and they are expanding their markets beyond the West Coast. I have had his tanks for years and they work great, imho.
Doing a clean and proper bait tank installation is very important, and depending on the size of the tank you were looking at, type of pump(s), through hull, plumbing, flow alarm, light, etc., it is not cheap to outfit and provide a custom, clean install, imho.
Good luck with your new rig, it sounds like fun...

Well, everything went OK. The tack is not callibrated, unless you think a Cummins diesel can spin to 6k+. Ain't happen'en. We could tell before we left the harbor it needed bigger props. We hit 41mph at full throttle. The rev limiter puts that at 3800rpm. That's 1mph less than the Volvo 210hp ran. The saleman has already ordered a set of props, two sizes up. He's thinking possibly 3-4 sizes up from what was on it (24 something going to 28), so we'll see. I can swap for free untill we get it right. I might buy an extra set just in case. $1200 is a little spendy though.
You can check the bouy sites to see what the water was like off Long Beach. The swell was big, with a decent duration. The wind chop was 1-2 foot. We still went straight uphill at 35 mph. Could we have done that with bait? Not unless we wanted it to die. It was comfortable though. I would have had no problem drinking a soda, you would just have to pick your sips.
Great boat. I'm thinking the Raymarine C80 for Radar,GPS and fishfinder (WestMarine, $3500 including Radom, transducer and GPS antenea). I know, all in one, what if you lose it? I'm getting a handheld radio w/gps and a handheld GPS. For fullsize radio, I'm thinking Icom or that other black one with a Galaxy 6db antenea. I also need to pick a stereo. I thought it came with one but they told me they order them without due to where the factory puts them. Whatever, I need a stereo and possibly a MP3.
Due to the weather being crappy, they put a 150' of rope, 25' of chain and a bruce knock off anchor on. He's throwing it in. I'll put it in a milk crate or something for a stern or backup. I still need a bunch of little crap like the ropes and bumpers.
I hope to be able to take it to the tower place in the next week or two. I'm getting quotes now.
