HID lights

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd post this for those guys who want more illumination from their spreader lights with less power consumption. HID Xenon Kits, HID Bulbs, HID Accessories
The company is in San Diego and their pricing is great. With a little modification of your spreader lights, you could have some BRIGHT deck lights.
Or you could put some on your truck and light up the roads much better.

Did you actually do this on your boat? If so, was it a complete fixture replacement or just a bulb, and which bulb if you don't mind?

And is the actual fixture a marine grade fixture?

Last, what's the power consumption savings comparison to what you had vs. the HID ?

David,
I'm considering doing this modification to my spreaders but have yet to. It would involve a retrofit of your current light housings. I can say that I have used these in my truck and have been pretty impressed with their output.
My spreader lights, like most, take a 55 watt h3 bulb. Yours may be different so you may want to double check. These draw 35 watts each but put out much more light than an equivalent 35 watt halogen bulb.
As far as being marine-grade, I'm not sure but they do seem pretty well sealed. That might be better answered by DDM though. Good luck.
