washdown pump question

I just bought a 21 cc boat without washdown pump. It has a livewell pump, mount on brass truthhull valve. The livewell pump has addition port. Could I used the extra port get the water for the washdown pump? What pump do you recomend and how much psi?

thats the way you'll find most of them set up. Using that technique allows for only one intake thru the hull! Go for it!

if your drawing from the through hull psi really is a preference to what you like, obviously more psi the more cleaning power but it will be determined by the on demand pump you buy, I have a shur flow and it's working great.

If you do not want to install another pump you can consider putting a "Y" vale in line downstream from your pump. When you want to wash down the deck, simply turn the vale for a few minutes. Just temember to turn it back or your bait will all die. Doing this a for a couple of minutes at a time should be okay.

Paul, You mean still use the livewell pump inlet port and y out to the washdown hose? used the livewell pump to washdown the boat? Would that have enough pressure?
