San Diego, boat is in the water with no trailer. Has a hard top already.
Raydome and antennas possibly relocated to top?
We would like to get it done over the winter.

Call Pacific Yacht Towers in Vista.

They are the oldest and one of the best in town.

You are looking at about $2500 all pimped out like that.

Gato,

If he gets a tower like that from Pacific for $2500, then they tried to screw me royally...

They wanted $2200 for wake board/radar arch with no rocket launchers, lites, antenna brackets etc...

I would think there price for this would be in excess of $4500.

Which is the reason that I went to TAC Welding in Santee

That was what they quoted me roughly if I remember correctly.

I think it was $1k for the hoop and $1k for the shade + some extras if I recall correctly.

I do remember it being a lot more $ for the folding option, but if he's in a slip, it's not really an issue.

That TAC guy does sound like a deal. I printed out your post from AMS and I'm going to give him a call before I have my lookout done.

Go ahead and post his info here.

Shit I just had a quote from a guy for just a t-top (no tower) from a guy. His was 4000 to 5000 for stainless steel. Aluminum was around 3500. $2500 would be a steal, if that's the case I'll get mine done by that guy above ASAP.

That's insane.

A T-top for a center console is about 2k. A Hardtop for a Walkaround is about 3k.

Price can jump really quick when you are adding on rodholders and other goodies, but those are pretty solid numbers.

Also PYT offers 10% off in the offseason starting in Jan I think. But you might ask them about it now.

Troy is the guy you want to talk to. His work is outstanding and he is trying to establish him self in this business. His prices reflect it.

Chingon Custom Metal Fabrication

If you are in San Diego you may want to give my buddie Ramon a call at his shop, which is "Chingon Custom Metal Fabrication"

He can build this for you while the boat is on the water.

2970 Main Street, Suite A
San Diego, Ca 92113
619-702-4830

Remember though, when you start adding things like rocket launchers, light tabs, antenea mounts, radar mounts and more, things can start adding up.

Ramon does do Xlnt work as I am sure most do, so give him a call and at least pick his brain and get an estimate, and tell him Mike Petersen sent ya.

The unknown fisherman :p

Thanks for all the responses.........money's no problem cuz it ain't my boat
I'm just put in charge of these things to try and find the best deal.

I have a question regarding the current position of the radome. It is mounted on the pad on the hard top. Will the addition of the tower interfere with it's operation if we don't move it? I've seen boats with this configuration before.
Also what about the gps antenna. He had a problem when the boat was new. When the radar was on he would loose his gps signal. We got an extension rod for the gps antenna and it fixed the problem. It seems that the gps should be fine..any input?

He's also interested in glassing/gel coating in a bait tank on the port side of the transom. It is where the door and swimstep are. Does anyone know a person capable of doing this type of work? (If it were mine I wouldn't do it....but he seems to want it)

Thanks guys!

Shouldn't be a problem with the tower and the radar. Just make SURE that no one is up there when the radar is spinning. It will slowly cook your inards.

GPS antenna ALWAYS has to be above the dome. That's standard.

Talk to Mark Wisch at Pacific Edge in Huntington for a custom glass tank. Also Randy at offshore products does the same.

Good luck.
