Help!! Quick come inside!

So as I am prepping the boat for tomorrow I notice that there is a little gear oil leaking from the lower screw on the bottom of my yamaha 225. I loosen the screw witch was a little loose as I was removing it to check for water entry. When removed oil came out no water or milkiness in it. So I loosened the top screw- I did not remove it completely and puumped oil into it. There was some resistance as I was pumping. When finished I noticed oil coming out through the prop out the exhaust? Did I just F-up my weekend?? Or is it just too much pressure?

as long as the oil wasnt comming from the prop to start you should be ok. Soundslike you overpressurized it.

clean up all the oil remove the top screw and see if it leaks out the prop. If it does you might have to change the seal. Oil under pressure can blow seals out. But when it does it blows them all the way out.

the gear lube is supposed to be install from the lower screw with the upper screw removed so you can fill to that level, it lets you know that's the level it should be top off. I think you might have to replace the seal. First pressure and vacuum test the lower unit. The tools I have cost $450 for both tools from Steven. 1 hour with a mechanic might run you way less.

I just refliled it the way I should have the first time. I ran the engine and it looks like nothing is wrong. I am going out I think, wish for the best!
