steering cylinder help???

i have a 25 foot alglas and the steering cylinder is leaking all the oil out i was wonder if anyone knows how to rebuilt them or if i should just buy a new one? i have a rebuild kit i just cant get the end caps off

if its a seastar, the kit should have come with the spanner two pin wrench.

I just changed mine last weekend. (Sea star). Fairly easy if you have the wrench.

i just cant get the retaining rings oun i turn the ends and all i see is a small gap but no ring

is it a seastar unit?
If it is it will have a (male) plug in the end with shallow holes for pins to fit into. If it has those, you need the wrench. I have the wrench.
