Hanging a fat 4 stroke off the back of a boat that was originally built for a 2 stroke, means that the scuppers could be under water and the transom is close to the waterline.
A bracket to compensate for the extra weight and leverage would be ideal. Swimstep would be cool. There are lots of them out there but they are built on the East Coast and ordering one can be a PITA. Transom has to be flat and straight, angle has to be correctly measured. Ooops could cost you a lot.
Custom built in town. You could make a template, build the bracket with flotation and fill the outboard notch, all in one piece. That would be better then 2x6 redwood
