150 Hp Yamaha ProV to 200 Hp

I currently have a 150 Hp Yamaha ProV Outboard (year 1988)

I was told if swapped out my carbs for same carbs that come a on a 200 hp i'd basically have a 200 hp?

Is this true? when i was trying to research it on google only thing i could find was someone that had the same engine did just that but also replaced the reeds and added headers from a 225.. but thats all the person said and didnt say anything performance or what not..
basically im asking if this will work and if does would if would it be worth $$ to do this? any one have experience doing this? thanks

Chaod, I have heard of similar ideas with making a 9.9 into a 15 with a carb swap... I have heard some beleive it works and some believe not, really there are a lot of things going on inside an outboard...I would not open that pandora's box right now...did James do your carbs yet? how is it running?

Try asking over at "the hull truth".
Personally I doubt your gonna get a 50 HP gain from a carb swap, but what do I know.

The 150,175 and 200 are all the same bore and stroke and displacement. They get the hosepower ratings by using differant carbs and exhaust tubes.
