Need some Advice

Ok, Iam selling my boat, and I need some advice on someone that want's to buy her, so this guy call's me and he tell's me he is interested in buying her, after I talk to him, and give the direction's to my home he put his brother on, and tell's me he's the one wanting to buy the boat, and he would like to talk to me, OK. His brother start's to give me this story about He's here from South Africa, and he's leaving on Sunday, and He would like to come and see the the boat,"tomarrow" because if He buy's Her he want to ship it over to his Country, "at his expense" He also wanted to try and find out how low I would drop the price, witch I told him he would have to come over and look at Her first and then we could discuss a price if any. He's gonna come over tomarrow.

What do you guy's think? Has any one of you guy's or gal's out there ever had to deal with someone like this, "selling a boat to someone that's gonna ship it over sea's"? If yes, what should I look out for? I'am not sure about this, and any advice would be appreciated. Thank's

I sold Mo Betta II to a guy who shipped it to Korea. He paid cash, filled out all the paperwork and I did write down his CDL # and the license plate of the truck he was using to haul the boat up to LB. He sent me a pic of the Korean owner fishing it, pretty cool. So it does happen.

I wouldnt take anything but cash, and get a counterfeit pen and check the bills. Fill out all of the paperwork. If it feels wrong dont do it.

Good Luck!

1st of all Thank's for answering. When you say paper work you do mean Pink's right? and where can I get one of those counterfeit pen's at? It's not that it feel's wrong to me, it's that my wife is questioning this because of the circumstance's of the guy, and I think it also because we're selling her because we have too, not cuz we want too.

Agreed, (good) cash or at least don't give up the boat 'til the check clears for a few days. And definitely don't take a check for more than the agreed price and him asking you to cut the difference back to him in cash, definite scam.

Good luck.

You should be able to get a counterfiet pen at Staples or the such.

Sold my 55 Chevy P/U to a guy from Copenhagen,
turns out he's a promoter for vikingfight, another UFC type deal. Sent a guy over with cash, pulled out the magic pens and the wife and I went over the bills, they checked out. Filled out the paper work and he drove her to LB.

Sad day that one. Watching the "ROCK55" rolling down the road with someone else mashing the pedal.

Check those bills, you'll know if you get a bad one.

and the weak ass dollar is making it easy for those guys overseas to afford the damn toys anyhow.

p.s.
I'll come and help ya count and check the bills, 10 for you one for me?

Ditto on what all the others said. I would go cash only and have someone else there with you who can jot down the license number on the vehicle they come in and what they look like. Some crooks use this as a method to check out the location and you along with the boat. Later they come back and steal the boat. I've seen this happen many times with boats and vehicles.
