Rub Rail Help

Got some acetone on the rub rail and it changed the color to red. Any suggestions to get it back to normal?

The rub rail if white. Figued out that if I take a razorblade to it, I can just cut trim off the discoloration. I have no clue why it turned red.

Did you try a scotch pad on it? If it cuts off, you might want to try a mild abrasive, like polishing compound.
