Payout?

Hi New to this forum and tournaments.

How exactly IF someone wins... what is the typical payout to boat mates and such.

So lets say:

1st place - Do you split that among the people on the boat? Keep it to yourself?

Jackpot wins ($100, $300, $500) - Do you split that among the people on the boat? Keep it to yourself?

I'm here to have fun... but i just dont want to be on anyones bad side since i dont know the traditional payout if someone wins some sort of cash prize

It's up to the guys on the boat to decide. I think in most cases guys would split the cash between the them.

If everyone pays in equally then they are paid equally provided the amount won is less than is required for a 1099. If it's more, than the team captian takes the additional taxes from the pot in order to pay them as required.

Also how about the individual pots? Is that split among everyone as well even though you put in your own money into that? Is it customary to give some to the captain?

Same as stated before. If all pay in equally then they should be paid equally.

Remember this: Most boat's go into a competition as a team, not individuals. If you want to buy in as individuals then you will be paid as individuals.

Any line in the water has the opportunity to catch the winning fish....

Just sayin...
