Got a call from E2 earlier in the week.
'Ceez......wishin I was fishin, what are you doing Sat.?'

'Going fishing with you. When and where?'

'SCI, call Brian, and tell lil D hes going with us'

No brainer.

Kid is stoking all week. Chomping at the bit.
E2 tells me his is only bringing three rods and a video camera to film what we called 'The ruining of youth.'

See, once you get to experience the 'stupid switch' at SCI, well, its all downhill from there.

0400 SS ramp. Flat glass all the way there. Got there just as mother nature turned on the lights.

Shallow show early. Hit the beaches on the front with the hardbaits. They really wanted the LC 128 in American Shad. Warmed up. Got em good. Time to hunt.

Started making our way slowly to 'the top'. Mini conditions had us on the hunt once again. Started to pick away at the better grade on the outside edges with PEARL 4's, 5's, and 6's burned up top, as the bait hadnt been pushed up close yet. Onsies and twosies in the 3-5 pound class.

Did the round about for a while, then it began.

On the inside of the NW corner is when 'the stupid switch' reared its mug at around 1230. And boy did it get silly for the next hour and a half!

Bait had gotten pushed in tight from wind and current, and the fish responded with a show for the ages.

See, the gig at this place is usually the smaller, 2-4 pound fish mugging your bait, as the bigger fish lie in wait underneath. This day was WAY different, as all fish were 4-6 pounds, and even bigger ones underneath waiting.

Not many pics were taken, cause when 'the switch' turns on, you want a rod in your hand, not a camera. And thats how it was. Straight silly!

They bit the 4's, the 5's the 6's, the R and D ones, the tongues, the EVERYTHING! And the tongue bite was different. They didnt crawl up on the bait (you guys that fish larger profile baits know what I speak of) they ate it FULL SPEED!

One of many memorable quotes of the day...........

B-'Hey D, there all over the tongue!'

D-'Im cool, im getting ANNIHILATED over here dad.'

Classique! The kid picked up on the gig quick. E2 told him, 'its goes against everything youve been taught so far, but thats how they want it here.'

Again, didnt want to waste time taking too many pics, but believe it when I tell you, it went silly. 5 fish bag going 37 lbs. A 9 and four 7's was it.

Not to mention, the 'pumpkin bass' I had at the boat, and let hang, so E2 could grab the cam and film, shook it after hanging for a while. Easy 9er and as orange as youve ever seen one. THE GREAT PUMPKIN!

His (lil D's) life is in ruins. May there forever, and always, be a stupid switch somewhere...................pics.

What a day.
It was pretty amazing to see wolf packs of giant calicos rushing the boat.
It was cool to watch lil D get then hang of poaching the followers and then tell us to get his followers while he let his bass hang.
Great time on the water with great friends. Life really doesn't get any better then that.
'lil Denek has not stopped talking about the trip. He said his thumbs are as fuzzy as his baits.
The first thing he said to his mom when we got home was, we need a bigger boat.
Mad props to PEARL Swimbaits for making such a high quality bait that held up against the thrashing these calicos gave them.

E2, I can't thank you enough for including Lil Denek in this trip. This was something he will never forget. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
