Nice Bass, Small Lake

Ended up going to yorba regional park today with my buddy, didnt do so well , saw lots of 12 inchers running around eating a couple of draggon flies, caught one of them on drop shot, ended up going back home, and hitting up a local park near my house. Saw one of my buddies friends and started talking to him bout' jiggs, ended up switchin' from my ika to a brown and orange jigg with a brown trailer, the guy had me pumped after telling me he had just pulled a nice 3 lb fish! So i cast out ended up scootin it across the bottom, pausing every 3 pumps, and i get a pretty good hit, swing and shes on. Took a picture with the beautiful lady, gave her a kiss goodbye and she was on her way. After that saw lots of smaller fish engulfing shad as they were schooling all around the lake. Had two on drop shot and then went home, pretty good day i might say.

Nice local.

Yorba is tough right now, lots of shorts all over that hydrilla bloom, makes great structure but it's combat fishing.

the secret bait for LMB in Yorba Lakes....crawdads. claws on angry as can be. some pids in those small lakes, just they are finicky, and have seen every lure possible.

Use a skirted weedless jig with a crawfish plastic on the back end. Red is the best color, purple is good to, work that grass.

Early morning and late evening topwater poppers work well in there to. or a frog type bait is killer around the tall reeds (last i seen they were cut down and trimmed a bit)
