First off, I fished with Denek when I was last in the States and he gave me some Perl Bugs--you make awesome stuff.
To answer your question, it is straight pour utilizing two SilPac RTV molds, both one piece molds. This bait is both huge (13 inches, over 2 oz. of plastic), and irregular shape, so it is a bit difficult to pull from the mold due to the deep ribs.
So, this bait is poured as a ribbed body with one mold, and a different mold for the tail. You could pour this as one huge pour, but this way I can change up tails. This whip tail works really well with the springy body, but I first made this as a curly tail (with a boogie tail 4 inch tail).
The tails are easy as sin to "weld" to the huge ribbed bodies, and can easily done on the water.
The body may be reminiscent of a Robo Zipper, but long before that came the Rebel "Ringworm"; this is a crossover of the two.
Someone has probably done something like this before, but it is the first time I have seen it.
Whereas slugs are mostly a stick bait that darts, this lure darts, shimmies, and shakes. I am thinking calicos, and possibly a weedline twitch bait for largemouth bass.

Notice that even though my hand is not moving much, the bait is moving quite a bit.
