How to tell if pond is holding bass?

There is a golf course by my house with some ponds and I want to ninja fish it, but in the mean time is there any way of telling if its holding bass other than to fish it? And what do you think would be the best bait to fish it at night to trigger a strike or to feel it out and see if there's fish? I was thinking a darker color spinnerbait or buzz bait?

you can see them during the day and the best colors for me were the 12" pumpkinseed power worm the ponds have a lot of plant life in them. good luck

Toss a small lizard in the water and watch it swim back to shore.

3/8 to 5/8 oz Black Jitter Bug always kills it at night on the bass, especially right now with a lot of moon out.

Bonus....... you don't have to worry about snags either.

Berkley 3" Beast in black. Rig it either way, forwards or backwards.

Very slow retrieve.

Good Luck!!!
