| Angler profile: Justin reynolds. Angler profile. Name: Justin Reynolds Forum Name: SealBeachKid Age: 31 Hometown: Long Beach, California Any family? ONLY FAMILY! Sponsors? Pearl Swimbaits, Insight Clothing, Honest Tea BASS Favorite place to fish: In the strike zone. Any club affiliation ? 7 iron for 160 yards... Favorite species: Whichever species I'm targeting at the time. What’s your favorite bait for fishing saltwater bass : BOILERS-Burning the hardbaits THE LANES-Pearl 5" JR Treefish/Any iron in a red/brown/green pattern THE WALL-1 1/5oz. weedless jig matched with a PEARL bug in any dark color/Burning the tweaked out crankbaits from the most obscure websites on the planet DOCKS-Drop shot with a 1/16oz. Owner stand-up jig rigged with a grub-matched with a nose hooked minnow bait 8-10 inches up the line MOORINGS-Hot Lips Crankbait in any red/orange pattern or bumble bee What’s your technique for that bait and in what environment : Refer to last question Of the 3 Saltwater bass, what are your personal best fish of the 3 (Spotted, calico, sand)? Calico-8.2-Palos Verdes/Much Bigger-Catalina SandBag-Uhhh...bigger than the Calicos Spotted-4.5 Newport Harbor What about the boat? Or boats, what do you use to get on the water? It started with a 17' Coleman Canoe that I acquired one Christmas...and now My brother and I have a 1976-14' Sears Gamefisher that we use to fish the freshies. My great friend Todd and I have a 1987-16' Calibogie that we use to fish the local, and most recently Todd invested in a 1981-22' Boston Whaler Outrage for us to enjoy whatever we can get our paws on. I also spend a lot of time in my Caddis float tube, and on a kayak with my girls. What about tackle? What are your go-to rods, reels and other goods? Over the last several years Marc Higashi of Performance Tackle in Los Alamitos has shared a ton of knowledge with me and has helped me build up a nice quiver of custom rods for specific applications in the Salted and Unsalted. Mike Stembridge and his dad Bill have been kind enough to supply me with swimbaits and creature baits to feed my addiction. It feels great to be associated with a family owned and operated business. The other stuff I find rummaging thru cyber space like the rest of the world. Tell us about a memorable trip, Any great, wide open day or just a super fun trip that sticks out in your mind? I feel blessed to be able to experience everyday I have ever spent on the Ocean. Every trip is memorable, I live thru nostalgia and burn the days into my brain so I can always be greatful for the life I have been given. There is so much beauty in being on the water and enjoying life the way it was meant to be lived, not stuck in my office thinking about shit that doesn't mean a fucking thing beyond a dollar. There's always the trip to San Clemente Island on New Year's Day with Eric Bent in his 15' Whaler!!! If you could give one piece of advice to help other guys out there what would it be : Have fun, it's just fishing. Thanks for taking the time to fill out this profile, tight lines. Thanks for the opportunity to share what little knowledge I have on fishing.
