Rich & the calico's

We decided to fish to celebrate our win at Barona last Sat...

Calico fishing was very good - probably 50 or so fish for a 5 hour session - all fish on crankbaits & all but 7 were released.

Even though it was less than ideal conditions( breezy, sloppy), we had an excellent time.

Naw...no hooks. The original plan was to fish the bass for a while and then go to Bada Bing's "super secret" flattie spot - that's the reason we had a couple passes of sardines on board.

Yeah, I fished way inside, and the current was down and in. I was casting 6inch Hammers and just cruising them by errant stringers. Got some dinks here and there...I lost about a 5lber at the boat....shoulda had a net. Current flowed nice most of the day. Glad you guys got into em...

We were working in the slop at the outside edge of the kelp - finally came inside near the end of the day for some mellow water...
