The only real benefit that I can see to the nasty, cold, windy winter that we've had down here is that is seems to have accelerated the cooling of the water, bringing fish that we would usually not see until March in early. We've seen large mullet snapper (25+lb.) since Christmas, and in the last 10 days or so the small yellowtail that we'd been seeing one here and one there have gotten more numerous, and larger. Best day this week was one boat with 6 jurel (yellowtail) from 22 to 52 pounds. The attached pictures were from todays catch. Fish are coming from Punta Perico, using sardines, 40-50 lb. fluorocarbon leader, and small hooks (#1 and #1/0). Weather the last few days has been in the low 70's, with some wind, but has been very fishable.

If by "spoiled rotten" you meant the weather, I guess that you're right. It's pretty funny down here when the temps plummet into the 60's and the cab drivers out in front of the Los Arcos are all bundled up in their parkas, and scarves. Just missin' a little steam comin' outta the mouths and it could be Soldier Field. The blood thins after a while. I've always been a weather wussy, growin' up in the Bay Area we didn't have much extreme weather either. If you meant somethin' else, well....
