| January Dorado in Santa Rosalia?
Well, just when you start to think you understand something about fishing, you get a brand new twist that sends you back to the books. Ed Hogan and I were fishing the bajos off of San Marcos Island yesterday and he says something about seeing a dorado at the boat. Since the water is about 59 degrees, I think he has had too much coffee this morning, but a few minutes later when reeling his bait in, he see another. When we go to move to another location, I actually see two jumping so we edge over and put a small bait out and throw some iron in that general direction. About 25 fish later (all but two released) we decide that there really were some dorado in the area. So we had fresh dorado for dinner along with yellowtail sashimi. Now if we could just find a marlin on the 110 bajo.
