Ho Ho Ho, it's frickin' cold down here, for here. It sounds a little wimpy when I"m talkin' to clients that are from Idaho, and Montana, but today is the coldest day down here this year. Temps last night got down to 48F, and that makes for some pretty chilly papayas my friend. The good news is that pargo lisa (mullet snapper) are making a very impressive and early start to there year. Typical this time of year is for the smaller fish (8-12lbs.) to move in and start practicing for the mating dances of late February and March, with the bigger guys still a month away. Not so this year. Yanqui El Plumbero has been out the last three days and has had a couple of very nice fish (picture of one enclosed). He caught his share of 12 pound fish as well. 40-50 lb. fluoro leader and sardines did the trick. Some smaller cabrilla starting to show, sierra, and we had a couple of 20lb. dorado this week as well. Ho.

That is a beautiful pargo. I'm heading down on Jan. 5 to my uncle's house in Los Barriles, he has a 21' Whaler, we'll be fishing that area and hopefully Cerralvo too. Punta Perico been good? I've never caught a Lisa, thanks for the info. Todd.

Thanks for the report Dave. You're still not going to get any pitty from me on the "cold" weather though.
I'm working the wife on making another trip down there at the end of March. I'll keep you updated.
