The marlin fishing at the golden gate bank is as good as it gets. My 31 bertram was out there Wed on a charter and released over 10 marlin. The boat Bill Collector which is right next to me in the marina came in today with over 20 strippies. All bait fish, no one is having to troll.
I finally got my Bertram in the water a few weeks ago and we fished the WON tuna tournament last week. Out of 126 boats we ended up in 4th place with a 135.7 pound fish which we got on a downrigger about 30miles on a 180. The fish hit a large cabbie on 130 fluro. My first drop on my new Sotty electric downrigger at about 150ft down. We finished out of the money but had a great time. The big tuna have not shown up in great numbers yet but I sure they will any day now
Great day for you and your boat, It looks like there is no more room for another flag!!! Cabo is awesome this time of year for strippies, they always seem to run that golden gate corridor migration this time of year...
Actually guys those flags were for the Promo shots I took to put on my website. thanks for all the kind words. I went with the 260hp 6BTA Cummings which I'm real happy with. man the fishing at the Gate is going off right now. Stripe marlin everywhere.
