I'm sure that Mac was not disrespecting our troops and the senseless death going on daily. More of a reference to a feeling of hopelessness and the fact that lawless is running amuck in both countries with no end or help in sight
Well, at least somebody gets it. Someone with the intellect and perception to see that if you’re not stimulated to speak of something that you actually believe is wrong - then you’re just a fucking sheep.

Pulling ‘the race card’ is childish - this has nothing to do with this, and it is rooted in the frustration (so elequently and precisely pointed out by a person that actually stops and thinks) of using up our best on a place that’s not worth a the most fabulous treasure ever obtained by any dictator in any war.

Short of making the entire pennesula the 51st State and cleaning up the garbage pits along the border - that we’ve fostered - due to our laughable "immigration policy" - I can see nothing but decline for Baja. The days of buying $5.00 lobster tails on the beach at ‘181’ (circa 1965), are long gone.

I’ll try the Cabo thing, because the kids have a time-share, but that’s all. And for the micro-minded that think I should leave the forum, I can say nothing except actually have the balls to make it happen.

Steve,
That may be a good idea.

I really love Baja and have never had a horrendous experience like what was described in the link I posted. I've been making/being part of trips into Baja almost my whole life and each time I have the chance to get down there it's a great joy to me.

Hope the link to the story serves as a "heads-up" for people going down to Quatros.

Two different incidents.
From what i could tell The Carjacking incident also included a kidnapping attempt at the boarder....i wonder if it was the same cats ?
Bottom line is Mex is a dangerous place, be smart , keep your head on a swivel, keep your cool when shit hits the fan (....which it will at some point if you go down there allot)
& fly beneath the radar as much as possible.

No shit right...

These posts reporting info on robberies in Mexico are to get info about the bad places out on the net so that people can take the extra precautions to avoid the bad areas and keep themselves out of trouble. They are not a platform for "neener, neener, neener, your country sucks and mine is the best"

Compairing TJ to LA is point less and out of context. I hear about robberies, murders, drug busts and all manner of horrible things that go on right here in San Diego EVERY SINGLE DAY. And you know what I do? I thank the people reporting those crimes and avoid the problem areas. I for instance, don't drive through Bario Logan at 2 in the morning on a mo-ped.

These posts are to keep us informed. Not to argue...

Bullshipper,

Would you like a list of areas in San Diego to avoid?? I can come up with a host roads and areas to steer clear of. Would that make you feel better?

Read this article, as it explains some of the reasons why crime is up in Baja:

I lived in the San Javier-Hermosillo- San Carlos for 24 years and have resided in San Luis Potosi for the last 7, plus trips down from California since 1957.

I imagine sine 1957 you've figured out the what, when and where to keep out of trouble south of the border.... Just like we have north of the border.

I unfortunately do not know all of the ins and outs of how to avoid trouble while visiting our southern neighbors so I for one appreciate the informative posts about where the "bad" area are.

If you're in a tissy over Mac's posts just add him to your ignore list and life will be much easier...
