Heading down to Loreto anyone have a report.???Besides HOT!!!

WELL WERE BACK!!!! IF ANYONE IS HEADING DOWN MAKE SURE YOU BRING SOME WEIGHTS IF YOU PLAN ON BRING HOME ANY FISH!! DORADO ARE RUNNING VERY SMALL( BUT LOTS OF THEM)PARGO FISHING GOOD ALONG WITH THE OTHER BOTTOM FISH.FRIEND DID MANGE TO LAND A VERY NICE THRESHER ABOUT 180lb.WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL(NOT TO HOT) BUT SLOW FISHING.STILL GREAT TO GET AWAY.

Thanks David. I love fishing down there. How was the wind? I heard the town is turning in to the new Cabo.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading down to Loreto Thursday with my son. Did you try to fish the deep structures for any yellowtail that might still be around? How much weight does it take to get your bait down where you want it?

WINDS NOT BAD COME UP A LITTLE IN THE AFTERNOON(HELPS KEEP YOU COOL)HAVE NOT BEEN TO CABO FOR A FEW YEARS(NOT TO MY LIKING TO MANY PEOPLE AND EVERY THING THAT GOES WITH IT)Did try some deep structures for yellows but nada.Used 8oz of weight and seem to work pretty well.Good Luck .

Yellowtail still biting on the reefs, maybe 200 ft down, north of Coronado, and San Bruno. Results at this weekend's tournament were not really good, few of the 80 or so boats weighed fish, only one dorado broke the 40lb mark, maybe half a dozen over 30 lbs in two day's fishing. Two wahoo to 50lbs weighed Friday.No tuna weighed. Few fished for yellowtail but one boat that did took 1st for non-dorado category with fish to almost 40 lbs.

The authorities were on the prowl, be sure to have boat license, fishing license, boat import papers, and Marine Park wrist bands. Yesterday they required the wrist bands to launch at the Loreto marina. They are usually available Mon-Fri at the park office near the marina.

We went down the first week of july, great weather not so hot. But thhe fishing was not so good. We did not catch any dorodo that made it into my boat, got 2 to the boat but got off. Good bottom stuff though......lots of triggers, pargo, and butt load of sculpin. it was a very good time with the family. Also the water was still pretty cool most every were around 72-75, a couple of spots hitting the 80's.
