The June edition of Pacific Coast Sportfishing (PCS) arrived in my mailbox last night. On the cover, there's a teaser line saying "Going 'Hollywood' in San Carlos." Naturally, because I fish there (heading there in about three weeks; can't wait!), I proceeded to flip to pg. 82 and check it out. The article is written by Gary Graham, long time Baja fishing guru and a pretty good all around guy.
However, imagine my surprise when there's a huge picture of yours truly holding a 25 lb. pinto bass I caught in Puerto Penasco a few years ago with the title "San Carlos." Okay, I thought, that's weird! Nobody said a word to me about it! I'm not even sure how they got the picture; maybe I sent it to them some time in the past and it got mis-labeled or something as it sat around and collected dust. Who knows?
Anyway, I had to laugh! Publicity is always nice, but they probably should have fact checked just a little bit. Anybody here ever catch a pinto in San Carlos? I never have. The only place in the world I've caught one is in the Northern Sea of Cortez.
The article gives general information and talks about some of the movies filmed there. Check it out if you get a chance.
My now "World Famous" pinto picture (the original)!
