We are heading down to LA Bay on the 25th as well...probably staying the night in San Quintin or Catavina. We are towing 2 boats in our group.
If it's your first time towing down "take it slow" narrow road with big rigs screaming northbound usally partially in your lane!
Baja Hwy 1 eats up trailers...
Make sure you have at least 1 good spare tire for the trailer (2 is better)
extra springs, bearings and grease are always a good idea as well as a jack/tools etc...
As for fishing I agree with getting a guide, at least for the first day... If not there is a sandy launch area near the opening of the bay...(you won't have to navigate the shallow bay) Go out to Celito Lindo and follow the road until it ends)
Have a great trip and stay safe

If this is your 1st time fishing out of San Quintin I suggest you hire a local guide and GPS mark the bay on your way out.the tides don't look to bad for the 26th&27th but the bay can be very tricky on any tide. I would suggest K&M sportfishing 1st orDon Eddies.

Mex 1 to San Quintin is a cake walk with a trailer. It's south of El Rosario that things get interesting. Have fun!

I scouted last year to take my boat an decided not to because of the harbour. There are small rocks scattered thoughout just peaking above the surface. I'd definately get a guide and gps your way out. Good luck and catch lots!

Just yesterday i saw a Striper wt a 200hp Jhonson PLOWING through the mud some 20 yards to my starbrd....(thats how narrow it can get)
Im sure his engine was overheating as he was throwing a roostertail of mud, rocks and oysters while trying to "find the channel" Back at the dock the guy was looking for a guide for the next day! Know before you go! Have fun and call me on VHF06 if you have any problems. K&M Offshore.Kelly
