Spent last wek down in baja looking for fish. Pulled up to san bruno and the first guy i see has a beer and asks "you guys BDer's?" i say "Ive been on that site a few times" and give him the

. Fished San Bruno on Monday for nothing, but saw Nate(DOS MAS) who got 5 yellows and two dorado. seemed like our captain was always following the group and never really thinking about getting fish. left for Mulege that night, got rained on Tuesday so didn't fish. Got a panaga on wednesday out of Mulege. Fished about 30 miles SE and ended up with two football yellowfin. it was really dead out there-no birds, sargasso, anything. I only saw 1 boat come back in with fish that day. Thursday we got up early and drove back to San Bruno to fish on KidJuarels boat(great boat by the way) with his deckhand Danny who definitely knows the area well and never stopped trying to get us fish. fished Tortuga with danny with a heavy current and a slow bite but still ended the day with 2 cabrilla and a saw tail grouper(~20lbs). again, it was dead the 20 or so miles back in. decided to try something else so we packed up thursday afternoon and left for LA Bay on friday. Fished Saturday and my brother got his first yellow weighing in at about 30lbs. Pretty cool to see the look on his face when he got that thing to the boat. Caught about 10 more yellows to about 5 lbs and another cabrilla. Drove back that afternoon and found that the rightmost lane approaching the border is no longer a carpool lane and is not connected so we had to do the turnaround and hit it again. carpool lane is still there, you just have to go through with the non-carpoolers before you can get into it. not cool to find out after 8 hours of driving.
great trip though. good weather except for the monsoon on Tuesday morning.
Thanks again for the tips on where to stay and with whom to fish. definitely some good advice.
ill figure out how to use this machine at some point soon and put up some pictures.
