| the bite is on!
Well, summer has finally arrived. After the May-gray and June-gloom we are waking up to the sun. Calm weather is the norm. The water is between 71 and 77. It's still a bit green on the inside but clear water is within five miles of the beach. June brought a good white seabass bite (sorry no pics) and now the yellowtail are in. Not big but plentiful. Surf has been pretty outstanding as well. I think I surfed 18 days in a row (not that common here). The campground is still pretty empty but we are getting ready for the summer crowd.
Here is a pic from a couple of days ago. Took my buddy Dave, his father-in-law Richard, and his son Jake out for fun, suds, and fish. Jake is a great kid and a real trooper. He had such a blast - only four and his first full day fishing adventure. He got tired and took a nap but didn't complain or ask to go back once. He got to help pull on a Yellowtail and managed to catch a couple maks on the sibiki rig. We enjoyed a nice warm day with glassy conditions and tons of 6# -12# firecrackers.
Get out and get some.
