Isla San Marcos report 5-13-06

And it goes like this......... summer is here to stay in Baja Sur. There is no spring down here~ like overnight it's just HOT and stays like that till Oct.

Weather and fishing is just nothing short of WFO!! We have The San Diego Anglers club here this week (6 boats) they slayed them hard everyday fished. I'll let them post there story.

With not a drop of wind the whole week........... and hot bite on yellowtail and cabrilla out at Tortuga island, one might wonder why the fuck I only fished one day?

It's like this Busy Busy..... started the week with a 14 hour 700 mile roundtrip run to La Paz. Had to get my sons Honda CRF so he'd quit bugging the shit out of me Ah and trying to rig up this other 19" Outrage before next weeks Tournament here. Oh but it gets better....... The new GM of the ES salt production in G. Negro is coming here today, which means I have to cook for 30 people tonight and then tomorrow it fishing and more cooking.

That's why I fished one day this week. Ah but what a day....... had Kevin Ward (Searcher Capt.) on my boat along with Alan Lewis. Fished the famous south end of Tortuga and well one side of the boat had cabrilla jumping other side had yellows chewing.......... sure didn't suck. 11 yellowtail (cookie cutter 20s) 8 leopard grouper (4-6 pound eaters) 1 barred pargo all by 10:30/11:00

That about all I can tell you. Best time to be here and with Dorado to 30 pounds (one I heard of NOT saw with my eyes) just to the south off Punta Chivato........ could go off any week now!

So here some pics, not too many this week , but you get the Idea. Next week will have better assortment. Enjoy

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Should be an interesting Tournament......... after I did this report, ran back out to the island (Tortuga) and............ water turned over and fish were, not there? not eating? No one fished Isla San Marcos the whole week sooooooo ???? Cabrilla were going off, but unless you get some paint it's not going to work out. See you here~ drive safe~ Mike

Nice report, can't wait to come down in July. I have been
working on my skiff and it is tits ahoy. My kid loves moto,
it is so much fun. Glad to see he's has that right gear.
