| Aloha #4 (No skunk!)
Went out about 8:30 am today to a small swell coming from the north. It only hit once offshore and no waves were hitting the beaches.
Went south to Keahou and dropped in the lines, got hit by this little guy before we even had the short corner out.
For a smaller fish he gave a good fight and I got him on my TLD20 and a Calstar 700h.
Real fun and he ran twice after coming up to the boat.
Tore the shit out of a brand new jet with orange and green skirt.
trolled more and had a nice flash on the long line but whatever it was did not come back to eat.
high clouds and building swells so we called it a day at noon and cleaned up the boat and then off to the Harbor house for a couple schooners of ice cold beer.
Just too nice!!
Aloha, Pete

| Hey Guys,
I got the sun by spending the day with the wife at the beach the day before. Just a few too many drinks and a comfortable chair
Today was not much in the way of sunshine but most days are......
The weather does seem to be changing a little, not much cooler but a change is in the air.
Heard you all got some bad rain at least in L.A., how was it in S.D??
It figures that after all the fires ol mother nature would drop some heavey rain on ya.
Aloha, Pete

i didnt seem to notice anything worse about the rain. its LA shitwater to start with, but i didnt detect anything unusual about it down here...of course, it could be the drugs

| Frank,
Your just happy I am gone so if you cruise the bay with a date you do not have to worry about the "Macho Man" song boat
Of course Sufdoc now has a boat........
The more I find out about the fishing here the more I want to try farther south as I have been told by locals that the fishing is better down that way by a large degree. So far I have only gotten to about the start of the southern area but next time if the seas are happy I want to try venturing further down.
What I am dieing for is to get Mahi-Mahi or Ahi even though the Ono's give a good fight.....they do fuck up the lures......
Aloha, Pete

| Jason,
Kona is about the center of the western side of the island, going south can be just down to Captain Cook or all the way to South Point which is the sourthen tip of the island.
I have been told that the further south you go the better the fishing is, just have not gone that far yet.
Been out three times after this trip but have stayed up just minutes north of Kona at "The grounds" where most go for the big Marlin.
The Aku have been swarming there for the last week or so and some big fish have been caught. Last Friday we had a good knockdown but no hookup.
Went today to get live bait rigs so we can try that on Thursday. Fucking hope I have some pictures to post!!!!
By the way I have found out that good construction workers are in short supply over here. That may change once the big resorts are done but housing is still brisk.
Next year I am going to bring Mo-Betta and Skip Jackson over to do some remodling
Aloha, Pete
