Mo,
I have already planted the seed with the wife
Next summer we have the Bar-Mitzva for my oldest and then after next winter we will have a plan for remodeling. Truthfully I want no work on my part......I just fish
Branman,
Ono is great but Mahi-Mahi is my favorite. Some of the places here have Mahi fish & chips which is just killer...it melts in your mouth......envision Homer Simpson drooling on himself :p
Going out tomorrow maybe some pictures.
Aloha, Pete

Hey Pete, last time I was there, we drove to the southern tip of the island, South Point) there was a fish camp there with all the locals and they were fishing with these long rods, like surf rods down off the cliffs, they were catching all kinds of fish and cooking them right on the bluffs. Looked great. Also, I noticed there, the two currents came around the end of the island and it was pretty rough as far as the conditions go for small boats, have you heard anything about that ?? Ive been there twice and both times it was kind of stormy ?? (this is at the far south tip of the island) Bitchen place even though it was raining and the wind was up. If you are on land and in this area, if you kick around in the brush, you may find a brass survey marker that says Hawaii # 1, I found it when I was there, pretty neat, the #1 survey marker in Hawaii.

| Hey Pete,
those wahoo can sure tear 'um up.......do they hit the marauders over there? I think they will last alot longer than the marlin type lures......and the uglier the better! nice fish, and I have a killer recipe for Ono if you are interested......

| Mot's,
Getting ready to go out today but having some coffee right now so decided to check in.
Yes South Point is rough water and I would not go all the way to the point in the boat. I have a friend who grows citrus just 1 mile down the start of the road.
Next time down I will look for the marker, sort of cool finding those things. you can find them on the lava along the beach up in Kona now and then.
Aloha, Pete.

| Mikey,
The first Ono (in my avatar) was caught on a Maraurder, they work good for many things here but then again anything will hit anything at any time, no set rules these fish have.
Went out Tuesday to Borders Books and got a book on sauces and another on Sushi. next week gonna play around with the sauces. I think your wife posted the recipe here a little time ago, right??
If not post it and we will try it.
Still have some Ono in the freezer but the meat cooked the same day it is caught is always the best tasting mmmmmm!!
Man i hope I get a Mahi-Mahi today!!!
Did pick up a food saver at Costco and that helps the freezer fish lots.
Hey I saw your report and pictures of the 10 day trip.....FANTASTIC!!!!! What a great trip, you sure got your moneys worth and the pictures make me shiver thinking about getting my first big Ahi.
Gotta go get ready.
Aloha, Pete
