Ok. I need your help!!!!
We are planning our yearly trip to the East Cape and need to choose a resort. Last year we went to Palmas De Cortes, and it was awesome. I have heard good things about Rancho Beuna Vista Beach Resort, but dont want to make an uneducated decision.
We are brining the wives this year, so it needs to be Y-Chromosome friendly. Can you guys please give me some input??
Thanks,
Dan and the rest of the FILTHY team

Never been to RBV before, but I have been a bunch to Palmas, and IMO its gotten way too large.
I took the whole family to Leonero last year for the first time and we had a blast. The wifey hates the Mexico-thing (well, at least the process of getting there), and she came away loving it, as well as our 2 college age daughters.
Smaller, more secluded, less people, less people, less people. The rooms were great.. we got one of the bluff side bungalows... sweet!
Nice facility and wonderful food.
We're definitely going back

I have stayed at RBV twice. great place. fished the Dusty Bee II both times. cant remeber the captains name but he knos his shit and got us on fish each time despite other boats not doing so well.
If you went to RBV i don't think you would be dissapointed.

Depends on what you want, RBV and Rancho Leonero are for fisherman that want to fish and not lay by the pool all day. As you know Palmas De Cortes has a resort atmosphere that caters to the family better IMHO. If the nonfishing family goes with you then Palmas De Cortes. You can't walk to "town" from the others, once you are there you must have a car or taxi to leave.
I heard a rumor RBV sold if true any changes that may come can't be very soon.

I like the Hotel Buena Vista alot, very low key, but accomodating. Check out HotelBuenavista.com. I might be a little biased cause I've spent many vacations fishing with my Pops there, and it feals like home.

Your talking about two different hotels here. Rancho Buena Vista is one resort the other is Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort. Which most of us all call Spa. Some I think were talking about Ranch others were talking about Spa. Palmas is Palmas. The other two are very close to each other. Rancho Buena Vista has been sold or should say it's in Escrow right now. It's still open for business with nothing changed. Your right if you want the pampering then you need to go to Palmas they have it all. The other two are great hotels, the Dusty B II or Dusty B III is out of Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort (spa). the skipper is Vincenta he happens to be fantastic. Rancho Leonero is a very nice resort also with great food they have a new chef. So they are all good hotels just need to figure out what you want........
