San Quintin Sept 3rd

Quick report. Fished the don eddies for one of the 2 days. Fished with K&M on the big boat, a custom 27 ft amato with 225 yam 4 stk. It was a sick boat. Basically we caught the only eligablefish on the first day, a 12.6 pound dorado. The water is nasty and blue water is 18 miles but we pulled jigs all day, no porpoise and one small paddy. Thats it. There wasnt a single yellow caught. Fun trip, Kelly catain is awesome.

Re: San Quintin Sept 3rd

damn tito, I guess thats what happens when a guy asks for a deposit and you give him a 100 bill, dumb ass.

We fished at about 245 degree heading from 18-25 miles in nice blue 66-69.5 degree water. the only paddy we found was a micro and in some greener water on the way in at about 17 miles. We found a bunch of grass in the green current line with a few holding, but no biters. I know that if we would have found one in the nice water outside, it would have been loaded. The other boats opted to fish the 240 spot for nothin but rockfish. I guess it ended up better yesterday but we had to leave. Some boats got into yellowtail and we lost the tournament. Oh we'll fun trip, my buddy todd got a dodo, and we ate some crab at cielito lindo, had free drinks at huaraches in town. Goooood times!
i also want to say that K&M was an exceptional outfit. Monte is the most helpful, kind person who would do anything just to make his customers happy. Our Panga needed a new water pump and he let us come on the big boat fishing with Kelly (who is the best capatain there). the way the weather was, we were glad to be on that boat. It was similar to a 25 parker but with a bit more fishing room. thanks guys!

Kelly is definitely the most reliable guy out there, his son Oscar is right behind him. We opted for the 240 our second day while everyone else went out looking for Yellow Fin Tuna. We lucked out and got some nice yellow tail and lings and other bottom fish. Which panga were you supposed to go on?

Re: San Quintin Sept 3rd

We fished on a private boat that a friend of mine has down there that same day... we went out on a 215 heading, and at the current break we got a 25# yellow on a patty... then on the other side we got 6 skippies (at about 16 miles... or so). we trolled basically paralelling the beach north, but nuthin...
We came back into the 240 area and picked up many 10# bonito that were feeding on a baitball.
when we got to the 240 we saw 10 boats or so (about noon), but no action.
Sorry to hear you didn't do well.
we considered it a poor day also, as no love for the Yellow Fin Tuna.

Sorry your fishing wasn't stellar. Seems like you gotta fish atleast 3 days to really get them. And only book Tito if you want the drunkest pangero.
