| 8/12 -8/15 East Cape second hand report
Just got off the phone with Reid. He fished the East Cape for 4 days with yesterday 8/15 being the last day of fishing. He was on a 28' cruiser. Its Hot.
It was tough fishing for some boats. But he had good fortune compared to others because he's on fire. Mostly bait fish.
His personal count.
5 Sails 80-120 all on mackerel no hand offs
1 63 lb yellow fin on mackerel
1 50 lb Dodo on the troll (only DODO for the whole resort his stay)
10 Foot ball sized Yellow fin 10-35 lbs
His buddy Steve fished 3 days with him and did okay on the Sails, 1 Striper, and Tunafish.
He mentioned the boat would get stopped by the footballs and if you dropped back a Greenie you had a good shot at a one of the larger grade fish. He saw a spot of jumpers with 70-120lb class Yellow Fin Tuna going nuts. They fished it and got the largest Skippy he has ever seen out of it. Pulled one hook and it was on a good Tunafish.
They had some doubles on the Sails. They would bait one, be fighting it and a new one would pop up and they would hook that one too.
A few big Blue Marlin hooked with most lost one landed.
