Leopard sharks in Mexico???

Hi everyone,

I am a graduate student studying leopard shark behavior and population structure. I'm trying to acquire tissue samples (fin clips) from leopard sharks in Mexico to do a population genetics study.

Have you caught any leopard sharks in Mexico or know where they can be found? I am particularly interested in southern Baja and the Gulf of California, but all leads on leopard sharks in Mexico (even as close to the US as Ensenada) would be very helpful. Thanks for your help!

We caught Leopard Sharks from the beach in Abreojos.

hey andy....shore fishermen catch leopard sharks off the beach here in Asuncion..they are about 3' long...email me and I can save the fin sample for ya.
