Mag Bay Fishing Report

Wahoo return after the storm as did the tuna and dorado. Bay fishing has
also been good using live bait.
There are also open dates still for 3 and 5 day trips on the the Success and the Pacific Quest and a few opeinigs for trailer boats to fish from the island.

$1500 plus air, transfer and tip. I'm going again this November on the Success. Too much fun especially when you mix in some inshore/bay fishing with Mag Bay Outfitters.

Not much of a fishing report. Title should read Puerto Lopez Mateos Charter Plug

Hi Bob, I pray everything there is good and Diana is well. It was good to see your message. I stayed at the cabins last year at the end of october and I will remember the experience always. Is Berta still the boss? If you can let me know about trailered boats from the island, we are considering another venture south. Do you ferry everything accross, or do you use the suburben for the boat and trailer? Tell Lance I said hi, and if you see Yogi, kick him in the butt for me.

You can bring your trailer boat down and we have secured parking. We can take everything you need out to the island including gas so you can fish as long and as
far as you want. We just had 2 25 cabos come to the island and fish and they did
very good on the wahoo dorado tuna grooper yellowtail. Berta is still the cook Baja
Berta and as always the food is great. Bring your boat after the storm which will pass
by Wed. Glad to here from you. Bob

Mag Bay Outfitter Plug! ;)

I towed my boat down last November and stayed on the island and it was one of the best baja trips I have ever done, and I've done a lot of baja. All you focus on is fishing every day while Bertha makes you coffee, breakfast, burritos for the boat then dinner when you get back in! We never ate any of our PB&J's.
The fishing was off the hook for us which I guess to the locals was "normal, not great". I will be going every year now, including this November again.

If you want a great baja experience both fishing and enjoying a desolate island, this is the way to go! If you fly fish, look up Lance through Bob or contact me and I would be happy to pass on his info. Great guy and an amazing fly fisher.

Hey cksea, understand that fishing is ALWAYS good in mag, and you can call BOB for anything, a very genuine person. If you have a problem with him promoting mag bay fishing you should realize that a shitload of people would love to realize the oppourtunities that that fishery has to offer. Trips on the SUCESS and QUEST will help that local economy, and any other trailer boats with their stays in the local hotels can only make the preservation of the estuaries happen. I was down there in may and was extremely impressed with the way they are planning to manage the jewel that they have.

Hey Jim how are is it going. We got hit pretty hard by the hurricane but are digging out. We lost one cacita on the island and most of the roofs. We are going to start
repairs of the tourist dock and hope to have finished befor the Success gets here.
He is going to be bring some things for the locals who have lost everything and we are going to have a halloween party for the kids. Too bad you couldnt make it this
year everyone is asking about you. Maybe next year. Say hi to your tio.
I dont put a lot of weight into the response by cksea I was only leting my friends know that the bite was back on and fill some spots for Cary. As you know I am pretty
selective about who goes to the island. If you get a chance come down. Diana is
driving down on the 4th. Bob

Well it was a shitty fishing report. I could of given that report with out getting on the water. Lets see October on the Thetis, Yellow Fin Tuna, Wahoo and Marlin. If I needed trailer boat support I would get it from Steve Warren.

Hey Chad!

Posting fish reports from professional guides is part of what makes Bloodydecks so good. I especially appreciate it in the Mexico section as it keeps you updated on what is going on in specific areas. Mark Grahm, Kelly in SQ, Keone in La Paz and others give you an idea of what to expect. Granted, it is a form of clever advertising, but who cares. All of the guides who post on this page that I have met are great people and will give you an honest word on the fishing. If you do not appreciate their efforts, keep it to yourself.

Pat
