You can buy gas but there is no pemex. The word is that they are putting one in. I don't have a fish report.

Hey Jack,

It's been more than 10 years since I have been to Punta Abreojos, long drive....I did not see any gas stations there at all...but, we did see a ton of flies. The waves there are epic. We did bring our own gas cans to fill up our truck. we had eight of them. The place is very dry and not much around....no boat launch when I was there. I'm guessing your bringing your boat from the water? Waves get big and there is reef there. Be safe.

I fill up on Diesel in Vizciano. I saw gas in Bahia Asuncion but as said not a Pemex.

Get a 55 gal drum off craigslist, and fill it up a little at a time on your way down. One gas station will rarely fill the whole thing. There is gas in Abre and Bocana but it's expensive and they only have so much.

I've been informed that the Pemex will open in Abreojos in 60 days or so. As far as fishing just Halibut and Bass this time of year.

My friend has a house in Punta Abreojos. He goes down once or twice a month. I will call him and get the most up to date information. Are you looking for trailering or boating down? I know we have always been able to get it in town (they have a family that runs a home made gas station with two conex shipping containers full of 55gal drums). They have a very large fishing fleet that is very helpful and can bring you gas if you are in the water for a charge. Also if you are trailering down you will be better off launching at Campo Rene which is about 5 miles before the town of Punta Abreojos, then go by water to the fishing grounds.

Yes there is a gas station in Abreojos. It is in an old man's garage. It is off the main road into town running parallel. I would ask a local how to get there, It does not look anything like a typical gas station, it is an old man’s home. He comes out with 10 gallon gas cans at a time and siphons it into your tank. Yes, very old school. My advice to you is when you get into town ask around at one of the grocery stores for its location. And don’t show up in town running lowing on fuel fill up before you get there. You never know when they are going to be getting a shipment in.

Both towns sell gas out of drums, bring your own if you are running a boat, 55 gall drum is the way to go. Launch at La Bocana, Camp rene is hard to get out of you need to know what you are doing on the way out of the lagoon. La Bocana, you can always follow on of the locals leaving every morning. If you aint fishing, bring 10 gallons to make it back to Viscaino and your set. The Pemex in Abreojos will open in 60 days?? (read 18 months is my guess), its mexico, manana is always bettert then today. Halibuts are going off, and corvina offshore. Good luck

don't listen to too much of the bullshit you guys are hearing by telephone about the fishing. all of the big fish are coming out of the nets. only 1 or 2 good halibut with a hook and line. all the corvina and yellowtails have been from the nets. but it should be coming any day now. the winds are laying down and it's getting nicer everyday.

This is true not much to catch this time of year except a few small Halibut and Corvina(small)....Good run on 20-25 inch Halibut going on from the beach as we speak.......
When you going back Mike????
