Flying out of tj

I'm flying from tj to panama in Sept. $200 cheaper than flyin out of lax, and $300+ less than out of sd. I've heard of the volaris shuttle but I'm on another airline. Does anyone have a good technique for pulling this off with the least amount of headache? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I just flew in and out of TJ to La Paz last weekend. We drive across and park in the airport parking structure. Only thing is if you dont have a Sentri Pass you have to wait in line with evrybody else to drive back across the border. You can also have someone drop you off at the border, walk across and get a cab. Probably your best bet. Highly recomend Volaris Airline, BRAND NEW planes and excelent service. Seams they are steping up while Alaska is cutting every thing they can ie smalle planes, fewer seats and little overhead storage. Oh Ya and free drinks on Volaris too.
Have fun down there

You don't need to fly Volaris to take the shuttle from the downtown San Diego Greyhound station. Just show up and but a ticket for the shuttle. Just say the Volaris shuttle (its the only one). Pay $15 and they drop you off right at the TJ terminal.
I just flew SD-La Paz 2 weeks ago and it was $234 round trip.
BRAND NEW PLANES for Volaris and free beer on flights

I did the Volaris thing from TJ to La Paz last week too. Piece of cake. Greyhound bus terminal, you can check the skedule on the internet. 15.00 each way and they take you to the TJ airport. There are a couple of times the bus stops, once right before you cross into Mex., some passengers get off so the bus crew wants you to make sure your baggage is still onboard. Then you also stop as you go into Mex, everyone has to get off the bus, grab their luggage and press the "inspection light" only some people get the red light and have their bags checked. Takes about 15 minutes, then everyone back on the bus and on to the TJ airport.

Give yourself two hours to get from Greyhound to the TJ airport to be on the safe side.

Thanks a lot guys. One thing I forgot, I will have a surfboard bag with me. Think that would be a problem? And my flight is not til after midnight. How late does the shuttle run? I'd like to spend as little time in TJ as I can.

No problem on the bus. The airplane is another matter that I'm sure you've already worked out. But the bus, no problem. Maybe get there early so they can shove it in first.

Take the bus. Crucero goes from LA Long Beach Norwalk Anahiem Santa Ana Oceanside and San Diego to the airport in TJ. The phone is760 722 1587 or
714 542 2215. I have been recommending it to my guys flying into Lapaz and taking
the bus to Mag Bay. Check it out they leave about every couple of hours. I think they might be part of Greyhound. Have a great trip Bob

On the Crucero the first checked bag on the bus is free. The next bag is $10, but your carry-on is also free. Try to do just two bags and it's a good deal. Count on about 3-4 hours coming back from TJ to Oceanside due to the border wait.
