Baja Safety?

Don't Drive at night.Contact Capt. Juan In San Quintin. . . . He will give you more than your moneys worth. As to the safety, only drive during daylight and you'll be OK. I live in Ensenada and everything is cool here and further South. Come on down and enjoy the hospitality and beauty of Baja. This is a great time to come here for fishing adventures or what ever.

The Good Cops have "08" Dodge Chargers.Do not pull over for anyone else.Only drive in the day and fill up for gas on the border. Most of the bad is happening along Arizona and Texas borders.Allways try to go in numbers.

Call Kelly. Best boats in the fleet. Home I just talked to him last week about the drive down. Just drive during the day and you'll be fine. In mexico all the shootings are between drug cartel. In the USA we call them gang bangers... Fishing has been good for rockfish. It's always good for rockfish... White sea bass caught last week and yellowtail around. Water cooled off last week but is warming up this week.

a group of us went down last month! had a blast fishing for the bottom dwellers. Very nice size on those things! Caught a few Yellowtail also. I'd go again! Go for it.

Ditto to above advice........... a little common sense goes a long way. Let's not let the drug cartel ruin our baja fishing adventures. Have a great trip. Cheers.

I've rolled out from the borader at 7am and in San Quintin by 1pm not much traffic no problems and a stop for breakfast at El Rey Sol in Ensenada.

Me Too

I fish a little further south, but did have occasion to drive up and down the peninsula last week and would second all comments above. Travel during the daylight hours, take your time, enjoy yourself.

I went down to LA Bay and stopped in San Quintinon on the way back to make plans to fish with Tito. Everything is nice below TJ. Do as everyone advised drive during the day. Stop in ensanada at the fish market for fish tacos then San Quintin for asada tacos. Have fun and rip a lip. I have never had the pleasure of fishing with Juan but I have heard nothing but the best about him. I have known Tito for years and his panga has a head for the ladies I bring.
