| tinted windows ?
Anybody have a first hand experience with the new tinted window issue south of the border ? There's a lot of "my buddy got ....", but no first hand experiences (and they never mention the buddy had just picked up a hooker and had a 40 in the center console). You'd think with the all folks headed south of the border for petrol, and those still fishing south and coming through the border towns, that there'd be a few "I didn't have a problem", or "we were stopped and f'd....". I've got the rear and side windows of the supercab tinted, typically legal california reg's, and I'd really hate to find myself trying to peel off old tint on the trip south, especially the start of a vacation .....

I've seen cars and suv's with the tint peeled off (partially). Try rolling down your windows to the first toll booth and thru Ensenada. Good luck!

Good luck! | From everything I've read, I believe they are inforcing that rule through TJ. If you were going to try the window trick, you might consider rolling them down at the border before crossing into Mex. The first toll booth might be too late. Make sure your doors are locked and there isn't anything within arms reaching distance from the outside. A good dog hanging out of the window should help detour anyone from helping themselves to your stuff at a stop light.
Good question KO.

On the other response, unfortunately the supercab windows don't go down and the lab has gotten up to 85 pounds so she's a little big to sit on somebody's lap ... but no one would stick their hand in, especially when the hair goes up on the back and her tail gets all puffy ..... almost need to buy a new truck.

They had an article a few weeks back with pictures of numerous cars being pulled over and making them peel off the tint on the spot. It does not just pertain to Mex vehicles as I remember.
You can take your chance and see what happens but they definetely were enforcing it pretty solid some weeks back. Then again things in mex change as quick as the wind, so who knows what the dealio is as of now.
Good luck.

Did you have tint on windows all around (i.e. driver's and passenger) or just on the back or rear cab windows ? Quote:

I wasnt aware of any new laws. We drove our Honda, (tinted windows) instead of the truck to save money on gas, last weekend to Ensenada. I guess we were lucky we didnt get stopped.
