| Muertos, Dorado and more.....
We are blessed with the changing of the guard going on around Muertos/Cerralvo. While the yellowtail are just about gone there are plenty of pargo lisa and cabrilla to be had at Punta Perico and along the east side of Cerralvo. These fish are holding on even as the water starts to warm in earnest. Herds of striped marlin, some customers claim to have seen 50 in a day, and sailfish are in the area around and south of the 88 bank. This is attracting a lot of attention, with even a big share of the East Capte cruisers arriving in the middle of the morning after their 45 mile run and fishing a couple of hours before the long ride home. This same area is starting to hold some very respectable dorado. It is early, and the dorado fishing hasn't settled into the boring excellence that we all tend to take for granted down here. So some days are markedly better than others, but they are there. The picture of Diegos' bull below is worth 1k de palabras. With his usual luck he also boated 2 marlin and 5 other smaller dorado. The first wahoo of the year hit this week, and the cubera snapper at the SE corner of Cerallvo continue to hold forth in good numbers and respectable sizes. It's shaping up as a very entertaining summer, for those of you who are lucky enought to be planning on coming down, stare at the picture until the face changes into your own.

| Water
Water temps in the area south and east of Cerralvo, all the way to the shore at Boco de Alamo are in the 79-81 degree range, with some warmer water outside the 88 bank (82-83). No great breaks, just solid warm. Clarity is good, particularly a fuera, with that cobalt blue color becoming the norm. Up north to the Bajo the water is green and a little cooler. As for surface conditions, go back to the picture that began thread and checkout the water in the background. Smoother than Verns' bathtub.

| Reply to my French Amigo,
Huh, huh, huh Vernesto, I can imagine you, loins deep in the bath, hammering on surface to escape, beret jauntily poised.....
We've still got a lot of sardinas Vern, PP and the island. The marlin aren't feeding full out, a little sluggish, either full of squid (think spreader bars), or maybe we need another ATU (Alaskan thermal unit) or two, so a couple of the guys took out a tank of mullet that they netted in Muertos and killed 'em last week, so we're usin' them as well as sardinas. First time I've seen anybody crave mullet for bait down here, but there's always a first time for everything and the chances of the first time for something happening being down here are pretty good.
See you soon Mon Frere,
D
