I got my first 4 or so for $129 new. I've spent a little over $500 for a few. No TRex yet, and they are still under $900 if you look around.

If you look around there are some shops with great deals on these reels, everything from - top shots, spectra (the good stuff), reel cover, free shipping.
Some deals on ebay, but most sell for just a $ less than list with no extras when you add in the cost of shipping, some are selling at list pricew/ no shipping, so you save the tax, not worth the hassle for me.
If you live in SD or LA you have some options. Noahs, Squidco, Charkbait. Bass pro has even started selling them out west, (las Vegas but not in Concord,NC) but I hate to shop there (no extras) but love to look around. The BPS in LV has that cool under water fish thing going on on the celing with the bottom of the boat hull and schools of fish.
